So I realize I hardly ever post anymore. However, we do not have internet at home and with both kids I dont get very much time to simply go to the library to blog. Life is great. I continue to love my job working at Selah House (Eating Disorder Treatment Facility), I finally passed my boards, and so now I am able to feel much more relaxed.

I have enjoyed the past few weeks with Landen's birthday, Addalee's birthday planning, and the sunshine. Landen is 3! I can not believe it. He is so stinkin smart and getting so big. We had a GREAT party and made a lot of memories. Addalee is a little go getter. She cracks me up all the time. She is walking pretty well and almost tries to run, however, not on purpose. She gets to walking so fast that it turns into a little jog and she can't keep up with her feet. It's cute. She is going to be one in just less than a month!!!

Talk about getting big. Landen rode his first rollar coaster at Kings Island a few weeks ago. He is in the second row with Chad. He was soooo scared, but ended up loving it!

5 months

YES! It has amost been like 5 months since I last posted! Unreal. And our little baby girl is going to be 6 months next week. Seriously how fast has things gone. Alot has happened. I was spending alot of the past few months studing for my licence exam for Social Work. I took it right before Christmas and missed it by 3 questions. I was and still am prety disapointed as so much of mytime was focused on studing. So I am yet again studying and studying. I know God wants this for me so I will continue to work towards it until I pass.

On another note, I also started working part time at an eating disorder treatment facility. It has been WONDERFUL. I love almost everything about it and I truly feel I am using the gifts God has given me to work with this women. Plus, working part time I am able to stay at home with my babies, then Chad and I do a quick switch.

Kids are great. Landen continues to amaze me. He is learning SOO much which is making playtime so much fun. He trulyloves Addalee and loves to interact and play with her all the time.

Addalee is my sweet little girl, a true mommies girl. I see lots of fun times ahead.

2 weeks

I can not believe it has been 2 weeks since our little Addalee arrived. Alot has happened. Quick update, sorry no pictures, but wanted to update everyone on our crazy first two weeks.

On Addalee's one week birthday I was in a lot of discomfort and pain. Called my doctor, they put me on meds cuz I had a fever and the pain had increased.

At around midnight Thursday/Friday morning, I was in so much pain I could not stand up. We went to the hospital at around 1am on Friday, after a catscan and a bunch of test, at 7:30 it was discovered that I needed my appendix out! By friday evening I had surgery and was once again staying another night at the hopsital. My surgery went fine, but with dealing wit just having a baby, having surgery, trying to breast feed, a 2 year old that was extremly confused with everything that was going on, I seriously thought I was going nuts. I am just now starting to feel better. I am thankful that my pain was not the cause of anything serious, but how crazy was this past 2 weeks.

Chad officially started golf today. I am still trying to heal and a little nervous about adjusted to taking care of a newborn, landen, and myself after the surgery. Prayers please!

Quick update

No pictures, even though we have a ton to post, however, lack of internet at home doesn't allow the time to do that.

Addalee is still very content where she is. I will be induced on Wednesday evening, July 14th, if she isn't here before that. I keep thinking that it could happen any day. The past 2 days I have been more uncomfortable and having more contractions, but nothing regular. Time will tell!

Maybe if I have time I can go post pictures later. If not, next post will be from the hopsital!

A month has past and a quick update!

Ok, finally I know. Chad and I decided to get rid of our internet to save some money. So basically I only get internet when I am able to make a trip to the library. Here are a few pics to update.

Picture of me on graduation day! I have my Masters in Social Work!!! :)

Here is me with baby Addalee at 33 weeks. Iam actually now about 34 1/2 weeks. Addalee is doing great! She moves all the time. I have had several infections as well as contractions for the past month. Mydoctor is concerned because often is the body does not fightthe infections it can put you into pre-term labor. I do not feel sick or anything, actually really good. I have not swelled like Idid with Landen and I have continued to feel more rested and relaxed. Maybe being done with school has helped as well. Addalee is measuring small just as Landen. I think we will be seeing her before the expected due date! :)

Now that we are expecting Addalee soon, the walls have gotten painted, pink is now all over the nursery, we thought it was time to adjust Landen to his new room! Here he is on his first night! Yeah, I know, you can't rally see him. Of course he is on the bottom bunk, but he is just SOOO little. His big boy room is horse theme. It is really cute need to take pictures to share! He is doing better than I thought! He actually is really excited about his new bed and has not asked us to sleep in the crib! WHOOHOO! Hopefully potty training will be this easy! Speaking of, we aren't pushing it. He goes at least in the morning and at night, but with a new baby we know he might regress so we are waiting till he is closer to 2 1/2 to really push him. But he might do better than we think!

Other than that things are great. We can't wait till Addalee is here! :) :) I'm not sure about jobs after she arrives. There is not much close which puts me in the position of maybe driving a good 45 minutes to find something. Which, would only give me a short time daily with my babies!

Leave it up to God. Some doors have opened in which I am exploring, so we will see!

Belly Bump!

Just wanted to give everyone an updated belly shot. It is so funny because with this little girl I seriously only have a belly bump. Although the belly is pretty big already, I'm hoping the uncomfortable swelling does not occur as it did with Landen (in which, if you look back at pictures from my pregancy with Landen I was already round ALL over). I have only gained about 20 pounds, which is like 10 pounds less than Landen. I am currently 29/30 weeks! Unreal how fast it has gone. We are set on the name and spelling. After a lot of back and forth on the spelling it will be:

A few weeks ago my mom, Landen, and myself went to Kings Island (per her company day). We had a great time. Landen was so funny with the rides.

He LOVED the smurf icecream (also my favorate).

Landen was soooo excited to see the choo choo train! However, a little nervous when they blew the whistle when we were right beside it.

Landen is so funny. He recently was sick so he had lots of movie time. So now he is all about laying in front of the TV to watch cartoons!

Things are going really well. Although we have not tackled the potty too much Landen always goes at night time. He gets so excited! I can not believe he will be 2 in just one month! Unreal.

I graduate this coming Sunday. Finally after 3 years, almost 2 babies, I will have my MSW. I hope to get my License soon but all will tell with this baby. We are not sure about what I will be doing as far as working or staying at home for awhile. It will all depend on what jobs are open (which not much is out there right now that would be worth it).

We had a very fun filled Easter Weekend. Some of Chad's family came over to our house for dinner which was really nice. Landen loves to play with his cousins!

Baby sister is doing great! I have an appointment tomorrow so maybe an update. I am 25/26 weeks. It is going pretty fast! Chad was on spring break last week and we started to change around the nursery to look a little more girly. Chad painted 2 walls pink which changes it alot. Landen hasn't moved out of there yet as I am not sure he is ready for the big boy bed. He will be within the next 2 months though! We are excited for a little girl! :)

Ok, pictures first.

Aunt B let Landen come swim with her at her work. He had so much fun!

Chad has started to take Landen to Lowe's on Saturdays for the children's workshop. Although Landen is just a little younger than most, he sure tried to take over and pretend he knew what was going on!

Nothing goes by him, honestly, i think that he thinks he is older that he really is.

Ok, so I realize I said I would update this after my doctor last week. But here is what the doctor said. The baby is laying really low on sciatic nerve (spelling), which is the result of a lot of my cramping and back pain. However, she is not worried, just wants me to put my feet up at night and really start taking it a little more easy! Yeah Right! :)

Baby looks great. Another ultra sound confirmed yes indeed Landen will have a little sister. And of course I have already ventured into a few stores and sales to look at pink! :)

As of last week I have gained a bout 14 pounds. Much different than with Landen. I think I was already up to 20 by now and I was already swelling. Cross our fingers that doesn't happen again! Anyways, names we have it narrowed down. Please let us know what you think of how to spell. Although this is not a for sure not, we are pretty sure:

And just in case this baby is a boy, we have that name as well, but we wont give that away until baby would get here! :)

We are almost paci free. Here is one last shot! Also, for the past week Landen has been asking "I potty" so we went ahead and started to put him on the potty, except he will NOT sit. He tells us no and says stand. So we are teaching him to stand. He is such a small little guy, he just looks so cute standing to go potty. But anyways, he does try everytime and he pushes so hard, most of the time at least a little comes out and he gets super excited. But, he is only 21 months so we aren't pushing it too much. Such a big boy!

Yes, I know, it has been forever. With my praticum I feel sooo tired all the time and I am simply too lazy to keep this thing up. However, graduation information is out and therefore the count down has begun. I can not believe the changes we have had in 3 years since starting my Masters. Started a new job, started the Masters program, found out I was preggo, had Landen, quit my job, worked at a daycare part-time, worked 25 hours a week for 16 weeks for my first praticum, found out I was preggo again, and now working 40 hours a week (for free once again) with my finally placement, all while taking a full load of clases. It has been a challange, however, would not change anything. I am proud of myself and thankful for the patience and support of my family!

Here are some pictures. Baby #2 update: I am currently about 22/21 weeks. They aren't sure, I am measuring small once again so they are pushing my due date back! So we will see. I have a ton of ultra sounds pictures, however, we have unpluged the scanner. Baby looks great! So the big news . . . . they said at 13/14 weeks they thought baby was a boy . . . however . . . at 18/19 they said . . . girl! So basically I am confused and not sure what to think! Of course happy with whatever we just want a healthy baby, but it would be nice to have one of each.

Here is my 20/21 week belly picture. I am feeling pretty good. Like I said, just super tired and lots of back pain. I go to the doctor tomorrow, so we should find out more!

15 wk!!!

I am 15 1/2 weeks along. I can't believe I am starting to show so soon! Things are going good. I started my praticum a few weeks ago. It has been a BIG adjustment for everyone, but we are starting to get more used to it. Landen has been sooo tired since changing around his sleep times. He went to bed the other night at 6:30pm slept straight through until 6:00 the next morning, his teacher at daycare said he fell asleep during lunch, and then he took a 2 hour nap! Last night he slept 11 1/2 hours, took a 30 minute nap this morning, and then a 3 hour nap this afternoon! He is sooooo funny! He has begun to really talk. He knows a ton of words and says them daily, and I can actually understand what he is saying, which is so fun! He has such a cute little voice.

Anyways, here is my 15 week belly picture!

What a month!!!

This past few weeks has been extremly interesting. Here's the breakdown. . .

1. Found out landen had a double ear infection

2. Put on meds

3. Within a week, Landen was rushed to the hospital twice, because he had such a horrible reaction to the meds. His poor little body looked broken. Literally, he was red to the point where it looked like a third degree burn, his joints were all swelled so bad that he could hardly move or walk, then because the swelling his whole body was bruised. It looked like we threw him against the wall a thousand times.

4. After all the family drove in the middle of the night and met us at the hospital (it was already our second visit) the doctors put in on a steroid. Poor guy was at times in so much pain all he could do is lay on someone's chest, and mind you he didn't want to be touched at the same time. He ate/drank hardly anything for two days straight.

5. Then the effects of the steroid kicked in an we then moved into having a wild child who was still in pain.

6. Two days after the hospital visits, we left for our long two week "vacation" for Christmas and New Years. This was an adventure in itself, with a sick, yet crazy kid because of the meds.
So now, we are back in our house, getting a little more sleep! Thankgoodness he feels better now!

Here are some pictures of the event. I was too tired to take pictures when things got really bad. For some reason all of the pictures are of his legs. His little face was so sad. His eyes were all red and puffy, his ears looked like dumbo. :(

Like I said, these pictures only show a little bit of what happened! It was crazy. In the mean time we went for an ultrasound of baby #2. Although this pic was taken at 10 weeks, I am currently 13 weeks! :)

Things are going good now. I start my praticum next monday full time. I do not look forward to putting landen in a daycare full time, and on top of that, i'm getting paid nothing!!! I am starting to get more excited about baby #2. I hope to take a prego picture soon to post. Yes, I am already starting to show! Unreal! With Landen I didn't start to show until around 21 weeks.

Some cute pictures over the past few days!

Sweet Landen today at church. Our family lighted the candle today at East Side Church. Look how handsome!

I introduced Landen to my baby when I was little. We have been talking a lot about babies so he gets used to it. And he loves it, he carries the little thing around, so sweet.

At East Side Church of God they put on this amazing Christmas program called Image Christmas. They have tons of fun activities for the kids and a live interactive nativity. Landen LOVED the Pony and Donkey. And when I say Love, I mean LOVE. It took us like 10 minutes to get him out of the room. He sure loves animals like his daddy!

We have our first ultra sound for baby #2 on thursday. We will update then! :)

So many things have been going on lately. Of course the busy new school year has started off crazy. I'm taking 3 classes for my Masters so that I am completly done with classes this semester. Whoo Hoo. Graduation is next may. So excited. Anyways, Chad has been busy as well with golf. Thankfully it is finally over until the spring when boys start up. Although Landen has started to throw some pretty crazy fits he is still such a sweet little boy. We continue to go in monthly for weight cks and he is offically enrolled in first steps because he is so behind in weight and growth. However, he is way ahead of track on his development. We have decided to switch doctors and no longer to go Riley. We have been extremly disapointed in their services and will soon start going to Payton Manning Childrens hospital.

Landen offically has 8 teeth! We have been a teething monster during the past month!

A couple weeks ago we went down to my brother and sister n law that live in TN. Here's the view right outside of their backyard. Yes within about 30 feet 2 turkeys adn one deer. We saw about 4 deer just that morning. And actually, opening day of deer season down there, my brother shot one off of he deck! A hunters dream!

Where has the summer gone?

I can not believe that i have not updated the blog in over a month. This summer has been extremly busy. I have finished my summer classes and on thursday will be starting my fall semester. I have 3 classes and a full time praticum to go and i will finally be done with my masters! WhooHOO! :) So much has happened it will be hard to update. My brother and Leah and their reception up here the end of July. We had a lot of fun seeing all of the family. Landen has had a rough summer. He has started to offically lose weight. The doctors continue to drive me nuts! We had out appointment with the specialist down at Riley and they want us to get all these other tests run. Why can't boys just be little. I am trying to be patient with the doctors but they are starting to make it really hard. They told us at his last appointment that we need to do more test and continue modifications because the lack of weight gain can cause developmental delays. Ok, so why are we not able to do any test and see the doctor again for another 4 months! Makes NOOOO sense. But whatever! So please continue to pray for our tiny but mighty little guy!

Today little Landen is one! I can not believe how fast this year has gone. The first 3 months were so hard and now I feel like I can't even remember him so little. It's so hard to express a love for a child. I have SOOO much joy with Landen and love EVERY SECOND of him. Now that I am taking classes full time and doing a praticum I realized how blessed I have been to stay home with him so far. It has been hard leaving him and knowing this summer that I will be with him less and less makes it even more hard. It's just amazing how you can love someone sooo much!

We are back from Florida! We had a great trip, even though it was short we had so much fun! Landen of course, loved the ocean and water. Seriously we could not keep him out of it! I have lots of pics, this is not even the start of them but just a few highlights. My mom took most of the pictures while we were there, so she has the good ones.

More pics to come! Erik and Leah are driving back from Florida today. The wedding was BEAUTIFUL even though it started to rain. It was a sweet wedding and so romantic. In just two days my baby will be ONE! I can not believe how fast this year has gone. Landen has really "grown up" over the past month since he is walking. I am really starting to miss my little baby, but I love this stage and how much fun he has become. He is just such a sweet little boy.

Such a stinker

So much has happened over the last few weeks and i haven't had the opportunity to post. Here it goes, most importantly, test results are in. FINALLY. Well, there are some things that they want to continue to observe, but overall the doc was extremly pleased. There was nothing she felt needed to be addressed right now. However, we are still going to Riley at the end of july. Next, Landen's top two teeth finally came through. Yeah! And last, he is a walking machine. He took he first step at 9 months 3 weeks, but it was a slow process. He has offically been walking for about 3 weeks now. He is so funny, he doesn't want to walk, he wants to run. I guess he is going to run like his momma!!! Wouldn't that be fun! Every stage is just so much fun, but we are having such a blast with him right now. Landen's little, demanding personality is so sweet. He is a stinker, but so loving, and such a good little guy.

Landen loves to climb. He is always trying to get in something, or behind something, or under something. Such an adventurer like his daddy!

So silly! Well here he is walking, its not the best video but it works. He loves the camera, so everytime i get it out, he smiles, and wants to be around it. As you can see at the end he is really starting to communicate with us. He knows hi, bye, eat, drink, and lots more.

This will be my last post for awhile. I have started back with summer classes and my first praticum for my MSW program. It will be a crazy summer but well worth it in the end. My brother gets married in less than two weeks so we will be heading to florida. We can't wait and i will post pics asap! Also, Landen will be ONE in just a few short weeks. June 4th, i just can't believe how fast this year has went. It feels like we just were blessed with him yesterday. Time flies, but we have loved EVERYONE minute of him. I just hope it doesn't go by too fast!

kisses and test results

The doctor called me just the other day to inform us that half of the test results were in. I couldn't believe so soon. But they were all very postive. The only thing that showed up was that his white blood cell count was off. As he has been fighting being sick for it seems like months now she thought that is the reason but we need to make sure so they want to do another set of blood test in another month. We should be getting back the rest of the results within a few weeks. We were able to make the appointment with the developmental peds down at Riley but not until the end of July. That was their first open. But we were happy to hear that for the most part his text results were good. :) Just a few pictures of our little man.

I just wanted to give everyone a quick update on our little guy! We went in again for another weight check and his weight is still not at all where it should be. Yesterday we were sent to the hospital to do some blood work. It was horrible but Landen was so brave. We were sooo proud. But we should be getting all of the results back hopefully within the next 2weeks. Until then there will be lots of yummy food (icecream and marshmellows) for our little man to help gain weight. :) Not really the food I want him to be eatting but he sure loves it! :) haha! Anyways, other than that things are great. I had a great birthday a week ago and was able to go home. Chad has been on spring break this week and was able to go to his parents for a night as well. So its been a nice break.

Today landen is 10 months old, where has time went! Since he is still so small he still can somewhat fit in his swing. Here is a picture of him after falling asleep to a movie!

We just love our little guy to pieces. He has been so much fun and we can't wait to spend more time with him as he grows (not too fast though!).

finally an update

Finally I am able to post. I've tried a few times and it wont let me. Things are going good. As I figured things are becoming a little more busy. Chad started golf, I started watching a little 7 week old girl, and my classes are getting more demanding. We have decided that I will start going to school full time starting this summer so that I can graduate by next may. I'm glad, but it is going to be one busy year! Thankful that there is light at the end of the tunnel! We took Landen in for his 9 month well check. He looks great other being extremly little. He is in the 1st % for his weight for his age. They are checking his weight again next friday and unless he has gained a lot of weight they are sending us down to Riley to get some test done. He eats pretty good he is just so active. I mean he has been crawling since he was 5 months. Poor little guy wants to walk but his little feet are just to small! :) I bet he will soon though! He wants with help but can't get it by himself. But other than that he is great. Like I said, very very active, keeps me on my toes. He is great!

Since we are trying to save money we decided to take some 9 month pictures at home. So yeah, they didn't turn out great! And yes, its a quilt in the background, we didn't have any white sheets! :)

So when I say active this is what I mean. This is where the bread maker usually is, but i was making bread and he was just way to excited!

This past week Landen has been sick. At this point he didn't want his bottle rolled off of me and ended up like this. I rubbed his back for like 2 minutes and he was out. After a doctors visit and some meds he is back to himself!

Hopefully I will be able to post again soon! I will let everyone know what he weight looks like next week! Enjoy this wonderful weather! (well today is pretty cold) :)

Landen is so much fun and ALL over the place. Just thought I would update with some pictures! Nothing new going on, school is getting a little too much at times! I have continued to watch my friends two little guys, which has been a lot of fun as well. Starting in two weeks I will start watching a newborn little girl full time. I think that will get rid of my baby fever for awhile. :) Hope all is well!

8 months

I can not believe that Landen is already 8 months old. Actually 8 months and 1 week!!!! Well, our little guy is such a stinker! He continues to stand and tried the other day to take a step. He wants to walk SO bad. Not sure if i'm ready yet thought! :) Landen continues to be a GREAT eatter. He has loved everything so far which is such a blessing. Not much is going otherwise. Chad and I are going out this weekend for Valentines day. It will be our first night away from Landen. I am a little nervous but my mother in law will take great care of him. Here are a few pictures. :) Hope everyone is doing well.

I just wanted to update with a few pictures. Landen and I are getting very bored inside and we can't wait till spring where we can spend time outside. However, Landen loved the snow (we even gave him some to play with and a little taste). Things are going good. Classes have started back up for me and I am going to be a busy bee this semester. My classes seem to take up more time and get more difficult, which I guess it is a good thing, but can be very tiring. This summer will be very busy with a praticum and full time classes. And to think, i'm only half way! BLAH! I am blessed to have the opportunity to go back and get my masters so I keep working. :) Landen is great. He is discovering things and making messes! He wants to stand by myself so bad but his poor little feet can't hold his body. He is so strong though. Anyways, here are a few pics.

Finally a Christmas post!

So I finally have a few minutes to put together some pictures of Christmas. We had a very busy last few weeks visiting both sides of the family but it was a lot of fun. We first celebrated Christmas with the Taflinger family. For some reason those pictures wont load from my camera so hopefully soon I will post them. But we had a great time playing games and spending some time with one another. Landen had so much fun with his cousin Caleb and can't wait for his new little cousin to make his arrival. :) The weekend before Christmas my brother and his girlfriend came to out house for a few days (who is now his fiance). We had a lot of fun with them as well. Then we ventured to my parents in Ohio for a week over Christmas. Landen's first Christmas was great. He was so cute. Of course I have posted a ton of pictures. :) It was so nice to also spend Christmas Eve at my grandparents house. My Nannie worked so hard to make it so special. It was great to all be together and spend time with the cousins. Over New Years we went back to the Taflingers and spent more time playing games and relaxing. What a busy yet fun time of year. I start back with classes this coming week. BLAH! So things will once again pick up! It has been nice being back in our little home and back to a routine, however, we can't wait to see family again very soon! Anyways, here are the pictures, hold on, cause there are lots!

The Holidays

I just realized I haven't updated the blog in a month. Things have been so crazy with my semester at school coming to an end. Now that my classes are over until another four weeks I have some more time to relax and get things done. :) However, Landen will be waking up from his nap any minute. :) Things are great. Landen started to crawl at 5 1/2 months at less than 14 pounds. He amazes me. So he is already on the move. Crazy little guy! I have santa fever bad with Landen. I have went a little crazy I think. I mean really, baby toys aren't that expensive, so I haven't spent tons, just bought a little too many. :) It is so much fun having Landen here for the holidays. It brings back my child like adventurous side. Here are some pictures.

I can't believe it's been almost a month since the last post. Busy, busy. Well anyways, Landen is great! He continues to surprise me daily. After we started cereal at 4 months he loved it. So a few days ago we tried green beans. I am truly blessed. We have a GREAT eatter (takes after daddy). Three days on green beans and he loves them. I just hope his eatting habits continue. As it has gotten colder out, we have taken fewer walks. :( So we are getting a littel stir crazy already! :) But Landen continues to amaze me. He is almost crawling. Just today he was up on all 4's moving his legs and trying to move his arms. He made it one step. So proud, but yet isn't he just little to young to be crawling? Haha, growing up too fast!!! I only have 3 more classes for this semester, which means I am bout half way done with my Masters program! Still seems soooo far away! BLAH! Chad is doing good. Hunting season has started so thats all i hear. It's one of those topics you just nod your head and continue to say yes, when he talks. :) We are super excited because Chad's sister, Brooke, has moved back to Indiana. So lots of Aunt B time. :) Maybe we can get my brother back this way after he graduates in May. :) Anyways, here are the pictures. Hold on, becuase there are lots!

Praise the Lord

This is a song we have been singing lately because Landen's test results came back in. Quoting the doctor, "your son is normal." haha :) So, Chad and I have been feeling much better because we know that out little guy is just a little guy with strange poop! :) Things have been good. Chad is done with golf which is really nice because my classwork has increased. Landen has been eatting eatting. He just loves his cereal now. We haven't started in on other foods yet. I want to wait another week or so. I have continued to be on the dairy free diet. Landen has been doing better since this diet so i think his tummy just has had a hard time with dairy. The doctor said by around 6 months they are better able to digest food. Thats why we are holding off a little starting more food. But anyways, Landen continues to surprise me. He is rolling all over the place and is trying to crawl already. His little butt gets so high up in the air. Its so cute. Finally here are some pictures.

So much has been going on. Quick run down. Landen has started his rice cereal. So cute. First two times he wasn't so sure, but now he loves it. He had a clean plate this morning. He is such a good eater like his daddy! (Sure will help me in the long run). We sure do have a happy baby. He is full of energry and spirit. I have simply enjoyed my time at home with him. I wouldn't want to trade it for anything. Another update: this past week i took landen for his 4 month check up. The doctor is concerned about a few things. Landen is such a good eater but he isn't gaining much weight. He has also been having a few other things going on. The doctor wanted to run some tests. We should be getting the results back by next week. As his mother it is my job to worry but please pray for strength as it would be awful if the test results come back postive. And please pray for our little boy. He is just such a joy! Two weeks ago they doctors started me on a no dairy diet. It's been really hard considering I LOVE ICECREAM! But the doctors are just trying to figure out what is going on with little landen. Once they get the results back we will hopfully have a better idea. Chad's golf season has went longer than expected because one of the girls made it to State. So he has continued to have practice and keep busy. Another update: Aunt B got the job here in Indianapolis!! Yeah! We can't wait till she moves here later this month! It sure feels like fall. The changes of seasons are often so much fun. Landen also has quickly learned what time of year it is . . . hunting season. He can't wait to go out with daddy and uncle erik! :) Finally, here are some pictures!

So busy busy busy! I feel like I never stop! A few weeks ago Landen had his first cold so he has been a little fussy lately. He has continued to sleep through the night! Thank-goodness. :) A few weeks ago he discovered how to roll from his back to his tummy. So he hasn't stopped. He is sooo funny. I can't change his diaper, put his clothes on or anything. He is already on the move. I'm afraid he is going to start crawling soon and be out of sight!!!! We sure do have a busy little man. However, he is so fun. I've had my moments of exhaustion, and frustration being at home for 10 hours with him alone. I am very ready for Chad to be done with golf to spend more time at home with us! Back to a routine

Things are started to get back into a routine now that Chad is back at work and I have started my classes again! Chad is enjoying his students so far this year as well as the girls golf team. Of course I have loved staying with Landen all day as well. My days are often really long but worth every minute. A couple of wks ago my brother was able to make the trip up to meet Landen. As it is always nice to see my brother it was more special this time because he got to meet Landen. Here is a picture of my brother, his girlfriend Leah, my mom, and Landen. We decided to go to the Cincinnati Zoo for the afternoon.

Landen has continued to grow. Although, he is still very small for his age, he is a growing little guy. He has been doing a great job at sleeping through the night for awhile now and the past two nights has actually slept 9 hours! WOW! Since sleeping so good at night he has started to struggle during the day. He gets tired, but doesn't want to sleep. So we are working on this! haha. He is such a little stinker. Things are great. This past week, Chad surprised me with a new computer! Our computer is so bad and has been acting up which makes it really hard to get my school work done. So, that was a nice surprise! Here are few more pictures!

So much has happened since my last update. Landen is growing and forming such a fun personality. He is just too fun. On August 3rd Landen was dedicated at church. I am so thankful that some of my family from Michigan was able to come down and meet him. And thank-you Uncle Erik for letting me borrow your outfit. Landen was so cute that day. I will have to post pictures as soon as I get some (in all the excitement I didn't take any pictures!) It sure was a nice weekend with family. This past week we also took an adventure to the zoo. Although Landen had no idea what was going on it was a lot of fun. We got to see the Koala bears (sooo cute). We had fun! At Landen's 2 month check up he got a good report. He is growing strong and is over 10 pounds. Can't believe it. He also had to get his shots. IT WAS AWFUL! Chad holding him down and I was in the hallway crying right with Landen. He was such a little trooper! He has gotten such a personality. He has been laughing, talking, and smiling so much and has been so much fun. It's amazing how he has changed from week to week. He still LOVES to be held. Such a little snuggle bug. AND. . . big news. . . . for three nights now he has slept all night! So lets just hope that continues. Here are some more recent pictures. I will try to keep this updated more often, sorry for the delay. But I just can't keep my hands off of Landen, he is just so cute.

So much to update! Sorry for the delay. Why would I want to spend silly time on this computer when I have such a cute little guy to hold and play with. It has continued to be so much fun. Chad and I both love being parents and are enjoying every second of it. Today Landen is 6 wks and 2 days. We can't believe it. He is still such a cute little man even though he is growing so much. We went to the doctor last week and he is already over 9 pounds. The doctor was pretty impressed. Landen has been doing really good, other than a few bad nights here and there. He eats pretty much every 4 hours, plays, has lots of tummy time, and sleeps. Landen is such a little snuggle bug. He LOVES to be held and snuggled (which makes it hard sometimes). We have discovered that he also loves taking walks so we have decided to make it a family nightly routine! Just this past week he has been smiling alot and "talking" too us. It is just too fun! Yeah, for Landen!

Bad News: We have discovered that our camera is broke. We bought it brand new, however for some reason he is not working now. As of what we have been told we have lost everything (his birth, smiles, laughs, rolling over, fun here and theres). I've been pretty upset. So if anyone knows of anyone that could maybe take a look please let us know.

Good News: Chad and I have officially decided for me to stay home and not work. We will be going down to one car and making cuts in other areas as well. However, i will continue to go to school on Saturdays while chad watches Landen. I hope that we have made the right choice. Please pray that we will be financially ok.

If you are going to be in town on August 3rd, Landen is going to be dedicated that Sunday at church. Thanks for all your love and support! We love you all!

We have been so busy here at the Taflinger house! Sorry for taking so long to get an update! Landen is such a growing baby. Since we left the hospital he has already gained a pound and grown almost 2 inches! He is going to be a tall little guy! As of this past Wednesday he was 7 pounds 6 oz and 21 3/4 inches long. Although Chad and I are super tired, we have loved every minute of Landen. I have included some pictures. The first one is of him wrapped up in Nana's blanket.

Meet Landen Mitchell Taflinger!

Landen Mitchell Taflinger was welcomed into the world at 12:03pm on Wednesday, June 4th.

6 pounds 11 oz
19 and 1/4 inches long

We went to the hospital on Tuesday to get prepared for the induction that started in the middle of the night Tuesday/Wednesday. I had hard contractions for about 4 hours, epidural, then a surprising hour and 45 minutes later he was born. Doctor checked me at 10:15am and said he wouldn't be born till around 5 later that night, therefore I wanted the meds!!! :) At that point I was only at 4 cm dilated. Within an hour and 10 minutes I felt extreme pressure and the contracts came back and were more intense. The nurses checked, I was fully dilated and his head was already showing. The doctor rushed down to my room and within a few pushes he made his arrival!!

Here are some pictures right after he was born!

The next day! He is such a little peanut! So little! He has dark blue eyes and light brown/blonde hair! I think both eyes and hair will lighten with time!

I just love the way he puts his hands right by his mouth. My great-grandmother did this all the time! Makes me think of her! :)

"Happy Due Date!"

I heard that phrase I don't know how many times yesterday. Although yesterday was the big due date for Landen, he has decided to be a little stinker and not come. He just loves where he is at! I am sooo tired, uncomfortable, and ready for him to get here I'm not sure if I can make it another day! :) Please pray that little Landen makes his arrival soon.

Interesting info:
* As of the official due date, i have gained 38 pounds!
* I am still at work!!!! BLAH
* I can't wait to drink a cherry coke from Jamie's after he comes!
* I have been taking a walk every night for at least an hour to help things progress. (I think that the doctors tell you to do stuff just to help keep your sanity.)

* My friend who was only a week ahead of me, has a two week old baby now! So jealous! :)
* Please stop asking me if he has come yet, when I am standing right in front of you and the answer is obvious! (haha)
* Chad told me the other night, "at least if you go in to get induced next week at night, you can go to bed once getting to the hospital for awhile." He has no clue the pain and what is about to happen! Funny Funny!

Well hopefully soon little Landen will decide to arrive! I have a feeling he will be soon! :) Regardless, he will be here in a week. If he doesn't want to come by next Tuesday, I will be induced that night and hopefully have him by Wednesday, June 4th. (one week past due date)

At only 4 days away from due date I am trying my hardest to be patient. However, with a mix of nerves and anticipation, its hard! :) This past weekend my brother was able to come home to visit. As there were several prayers that Landen would make his big day while his visit, of course it didn't happen. We were very disappointed, however, trying to remember that God is never early he is always on time (said by our Pastor last week at church). It was a really nice visit though. My parents were also able to come down for the weekend, and my brother brought a friend. So a packed house, but a lot of fun! So now the house is getting clean the pack and play is already up in our bedroom ready to go. So now its the waiting game. I go back to the doctor this afternoon. When I went last week I was at 1 1/2 cm. I hope I have progressed to about 2 cm. My doctor said that she feels I will be close to due date but doesn't think I will go over. We shall see! Other than that, little Landen is kicking me harder and I'm getting up to go to the bathroom more often. I am incredible swollen and uncomfortable, tired, and grumpy. However, the thought of having Landen to hold in just a few short days, or even hours, makes it all worth it! Hopefully next time, i will have some pictures of Landen! :) :)

Pedicure and 37.4 wks

This past Saturday, my friend Whitney and I went to get a Pedicure. Doctor said that sometimes it can help things progress because there are pressure points in your feet that can help start contractions. Although it didn't work out in my favor, we still had a lot of fun!

WE CAN'T WAIT TILL LANDEN GETS HERE!

As today is Mothers Day, I get more excited about Landens arrival. As I feel I am already a mother to him, to have him to hold will be even more exciting knowing he is here with me!

37 Wk check up!

We are now officially at full term. When I went in for my appointment the doctor is still concerned about how small he is. She went ahead and had me do another ultrasound to make sure everything is ok. Since he is bigger, the pictures didn't turn out very good, but you can see his face pretty good. He is looking directly at you. It looks like he has chubby little cheeks. :) How cute. But the doctor said that he is only about 5 1/2 pounds, give or take a little. So he is really small and his measurements are small as well. Sometimes towards the end of a pregnancy the baby will not grow anymore because there isn't enough room, which could be his case. The doctor will know what is going on when I go in next week. Sometimes they have to take the baby early if there isn't enough room to grow. We shall see. As of Friday, May 9th, I am 1cm dilated and my doctor started to strip the membrane to make things move along. So we shall see when he decides to arrive! :) We are really hopeful that he will come a week early so my brother will get to see him!

35 Wks and 4 Days

So we are almost at full term. Only 4 1/2 weeks to go! Here is a picture of me. As you can see I have become very swollen. Although I have been for a few weeks now, it continues to get worse. I was crazy to wear these shoes yesterday, however, I already have a blister from my flip flops. And yes, I officially have "cankles"!

I have really enjoyed this weather, even though the heat seems to make me more tired, I have enjoyed taking walks in the evening. The doctor reports that Landen is head down and appears to be favoring my left side. I'm wondering if he is going to wait until due date to make his appearance, but if he is as stubborn as I am, it might be awhile! :) Only time will tell.

One of my dear friends Summer has been such a help. I just want to let her know how much I appreciate her friendship and all the support she has given me. She is going to be such a wonderful "Aunt" to little Landen! We love you Summer! :)

I am officially done with my first year of my masters. If I sit and think of how much more I have to do I get a little overwhelmed. Two more years! I am crazy for doing the part time program!
I look forward to resting for a few weekends without the worry of papers and class! :)

Landen continues to grow, move, kick, and keep me up at night. I'm afraid he is going to be a little pistol but we can't wait! :) :) Until later ~ Love

34 Wks and 4 Days! We are almost there!

We are keeping very busy. I have continued to wash baby clothes, sheets, and all the necessities to prepare for his arrival. Chad is very busy with Golf as I have realized goes past Landen's due date. Hopefully he isn't away at a match when Landen decides to arrive! :) Other than that we are excited and ready for this little guy to get here! Love you all!

Today marks us at 34 wks and 1 day! There is light at the end of the tunnel! :) We can not wait till Landen gets here! We have been very busy bees. With my semester coming to an end the work load continues to get more overwhelming. Chad has also started his Golf season as the head boys golf coach at Pendleton High school. So not much time to relax. This past weekend we had a shower at the church. It was really nice and we got lots of fun and useful gifts. Here are a few pictures.

This past monday we also went to our breastfeeding class. It was very informative. We feel like we are ready to go now. Update on baby: Landen should be close to about 5 pounds. He kicks constantly and keeps me up all night. Its so weird of how many times I have to go to the bathroom. I have also started to have braxton hicks (light contractions preparing for labor.) Landen's room is coming together. Right now there is stuff all over the place (pictures to come.) This wkend we plan to pack our bags so we are ready for his arrival without any stress. I am just having such a hard time figuring out what clothes I want to take for him to wear. I have it narrowed down to about 10! :) Tomorrow (friday) we have another doctors appointment. And from here on we are going every week! This weekend we are also having a shower thrown by the Taflingers! We can't wait to go spend the day with them and Landen's cousin Caleb! Love you all! WE CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!

Baby Shower!

This past weekend we went home to Cincinnati for our first baby shower. My Aunt, cousin, and mom were very creative and it was a lot of fun. The theme was "baby feet." It was a co-ed shower so I was able to spend time with most of my family, which was really nice. (We sure did miss my brother not being there though.) We got lots of needed items for Landen and some really cute shoes/socks. Jesus even sent down a special package of a pair of sandals. A note was included which said, "He will guard the feet of his saints (1 Samuel 2:9). . . He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He enables me to stand on the height (2 Samuel 22:34). . . He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand (Psalm 40:2)." The shower was alot of fun. We played all the silly/fun games. My Nanee and Peepaw really got into some of them. Here is a picture of Chad and I at 29 wks! I'm getting bigger and bigger by the day. Little Landen weighs about 3 pounds as of the 28 wk check up. And he continues to grow. His little movements are becoming very strong. He has begun to kick/hit me really hard in one spot that really hurts, but I still love the feeling. As I have learned he is able to hear sounds outside of the body a lot easier Chad and I have tried to include him into all the conversations. And I'm sure by now he has his song memorized.

I know God is going to use Landen as a light in this world. We pray daily for his safe arrival and the good works God is going to do with and for him.

28 wks

On March 7th we went for the 28 wk check up. Time flies! We can not believe we are already in our last trimester. I am enjoying how active Landen has become. He is warming up those legs to be a soccer player and track runner! :) I think he's gonna take after his momma. At the check up I was measuring a little small so the doctor wanted to do another ultrasound to make sure things are progressing correctly. So on March 12th we went for an ultrasound. We found out that not only is he measuring fine he is actually a little bigger than they thought. Although they aren't going to change the due date, he is measuring more towards May 26th not the 28th. Here are a few pictures from the appointment.

26 Wks and 2 days

I can not believe where time has gone. We have been very busy here at the Taflinger house. Since starting back at school for the semester I have been more tired and busier then ever. Chad has done such a great job in doing more around the house. Other than a few interesting dinners, he has really helped out. The first Tuesday of February we started our Child Birth Prep. class. We have really enjoyed the class and the people there. It is fun to talk about funny stories to the other pregnant women. I also think the class has enlightened Chad. :)

At our last class this past Tuesday, we took a tour of the maternity ward. Although, there were a lot of nerves among our group, you could also see the anticipation. After talking later with my mom, I realized that most women in my family labor really quick. So I have already ordered my mom to start getting prepared by packing a bag for her and my dad in the car. I know, we still have a while. But you just never know! :)

Landen has become more active. I love the feeling of him moving around. I think he is going to be a past pace little boy. (he gets that from the Taflinger side) haha :)

On a different note, I found out that I do not qualify for FMLA. Which means that I do not get a paid leave and that it will only be 6 wks. My boss realizes I want to take more time off, however, they are not able to work with me to do so. She also let me know that I will not be able to come back part time. So, I've been pretty bummed at work. I am looking into other possibilities to work somewhere part time. I can't imagine working full time and going to school on the weekends. I would never see my little man. And the thought of leaving him already makes me sick to my stomach. So please pray that something will come up. Although my dream would be to stay at home full time, Chad and I would not be able to afford that. So, if you hear of anything, let me know! :) :)

This past week I got really sick. It was awful. Thought this was a cute picture though. Not staged, Buster decided to come lay down with me and he brought his blanket since I had mine!

22 Wks and 4 Days!!!

Today we are at 22 weeks and four days. As I am getting very excited for little Landen's arrival I love knowing that he is safe inside of me. When his little foot kicks its always a wonderful feeling knowing that he is moving around. I'm starting to see what his schedule will be like when he first arrives by how often I awake because his moving. However, I wouldn't change it for the world!

As you all know, I was raised in a pastors family. I loved being the PK and all the fun adventures my family went through. Since moving to several different churches I always wondered what it would be like to have a church to call home where I wasn't the PK anymore. East Side Church of God has became my home. I can't wait to share Landen with my church family. Last Sunday, Pastor Mark read a verse that I have heard many times before. However, I looked at it in such a different way. This prayer is for our son, Landen.

"We have not stopped praying for you since the first day we heard about you. In fact, we always pray that God will show you everything he wants to do and that you may have all the wisdom and understanding that his Spirit gives." -Colossians 1:9

We can't wait for his arrival!

"One Awesome Woman"

Dear Sunshine, my wonderful wife. I am so proud of the get job you are doing caring for our little Landen. I am blessed to have a companion like you and Landen will be more blessed to have you as his mother. I am proud that you have worked so hard through school and are continuing to work hard at work, even though it isn't easy. I know there are many frustrating moments, but things will get brighter. Some day all your hard work will pay off and all the people that you have influenced will show you their gratitude. As we enter into the final 4 months of the pregnancy I hope that God will give you rest and that patience will come over you. Words cannot express the excitement that I am experiencing with you and I know that Landen will be proud to be a part of our family!!!!!!!!!!

"Daddy Class"

So, I attended my first and only Daddy Only class this past week and man did I learn a lot. It was fun to sit around with other first time dads to ask and answer questions. We talked about everything from breast feeding, crying babies, the man-cave (sweet room for men to relax in during birth), SIDS, immunizations, up and down times, what to give Landen to help when he is crying, and much, much more. I found out that babies will lose a little weight after pregnancy because milk intake is very limited. I also found out that hand-sanitizer has been proven to be more effective than washing hands with soap and water. I learned that the hospital is open from 10-2 at night to sneak away and get food (that is great to know). I discovered that some white-nosies such as static from bad FM radio stations can calm a baby to sleep. Supposedly crying peeks at 4-6 weeks so I have a little time to prep before then. And surprisingly a newborn only needs changed once on day 1, twice on day 2, and so on until the are 6 days old. Lastly, I found out that diapers are roughly $80 a month with formula being $125 a month, unless pumping (only $35). You can guess what I am shooting for!!!!! Well, after the meeting I have been energized and I am incredibly anxious for Landen to join our family on the outside. I love you buddy and I can't wait till your in my arms!!!!!

20 Wk check up

We went for our 20 week check up last Friday. My parents were able to come up and go with me and see an ultrasound for the first time. It was a good check up. Doctor reports things are moving along good. She said that he is 11 oz, which is a little small but he is growing. When doing the ultrasound our baby did a couple flips. He is VERY active. It is such an amazing feeling when that little foot hits. My dad was so funny. He just couldn't figure out where the baby was. Here are some pictures from the visit:

This past week has been pretty hard. I talked with my boss again about going down to part time after the baby comes. She told me that they will not be able to becuase they need a full time person for my job. With going to school and having to work full time, I would never be at home. Please pray that something will work out so that I can stay home more.

On a good note. The name is offical. ~Landen Mitchell Taflinger~ We love it. Chad is going to take a daddy prep class this coming tuesday. And we start our birthing classes next month. I know time will fly by, but it just seems so far away still! Can't wait! More updates soon!

Christmas and Fun

It has been a very eventful and busy last few weeks. We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas at my parents house in Ohio. We spent time relaxing, making food and spending time together. When Christmas day is all over and done with it always brings tears to my eyes. We have to wait a whole year to do this all over again. The time I spend with my family is very special because it seems like are not able to be together as often any more. Lets just pray that my parents can find amazing jobs just a little closer to us so that they will be able to take part in the lives of our children. So overall, Christmas was a great time. Thanks to mom, I finally got the one thing I have been craving, Gobs. They tasted wonderful! :)

Christmas came and went since I had to be back to work the day after. However, we were able to go to Florida with the Taflingers over new years. Although the weather was awful (when i say awful, i mean awful) it was nice to get away and take off of work for a week.

We went to the doctor last friday for another ultrasound and update on how little baby is doing. The doctor approved and said that everything looks much better so they are allowing me to be more active. However, since then I have continued to have some difficulties so they are wanting to continue to monitor the baby and make sure it is doing good. So that means more pictures! I love that. Mentioning pictures I love the pictures we got friday. Look how cute. The first one is of the baby's leg and foot. Totally going to be a soccer player! :)

I think this is so sweet. If you look to the right of the picture you can see the side profile of the baby's face. And then in the middle is 3/4 of its fingers. For about 2 minutes the baby was waving at us. CUTE!

Such a growing baby. The doctor said that the baby is almost 8 inches. That seems incredibly long. Going to be a tall kid! Definitely not from me. :)

The baby's heart beat was a strong 148. Doctor reports that everything looks good and approved me to go to florida! :) Yea!

Oh yeah, almost forgot. . . . ITS A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)

Holiday Fun

I know that I have been really bad at keeping this up to date. I will try harder from here on. We have been really busy. However, now that finals are over for this semester I have some more time to relax and sleep in! :) And I final have my Saturdays back for a few weeks! Baby Taf is doing pretty good. A few weeks ago we had a little scare and had to go to the doctor for an emergency ultrasound. They discovered that the Placenta is covering up the cervix about 3/4 the way which was causing me bleed. So for the past few weeks I have been on partical bedrest. Chad has really stepped up and started helping out more. It's pretty nice just going to work and coming home and having dinner ready for me. :) But the baby is doing good. I am going back to the doctor this friday to check and see where things are. So we will have an update then. The baby's heartbeat was at 142 this past visit, which is still very good. The doctor asked if I wanted to know the sex, however, since Chad wasn't there I had to wait. How in the world did she know at 13 1/2 weeks? Beats me.

Over Thanksgiving we went out and looked at some cribs. Even though it took all day to find the perfect one it was worth it. It looks great in the room. We will have pictures to come later! Thanks mom and dad for the crib! Baby Taf going to sleep very sound (hopefully) in it. :)

Taflinger kids and buster!

So today we went to the doctor for our first ultrasound and to hear the heartbeat. It was pretty cool. When getting ready to leave for the appointment i had the VHS tape ready, camera, and was ready to call my mom. Chad thought i was so funny. Hey, i know i'm not the first to bring all that in for the first picture. :) The nurse reported that the baby is doing just fine and is about an inch long. So little! But the heart beat was a strong 178. Here is a picture. So i realize it is blurry and a little hard to see. You can see the little head and body. One of his legs is up by the face. The picture just doens't justify. haha :) But it was good. My mom got to hear the heartbeat, in which she recorded on her phone to play to everyone that she works with. She's so funny. I think Chad was in shock. He didn't have much to say when we were in there. But when we were leaving the office he was holding the pictures facing out so everyone in the waiting room could clearly see what he had in his hand. So funny.

We are both becoming more excited of the thought of a little one. This next month we realize that we need to tell our bosses the big news. Chad has already bought a book and little teddy bear for the baby. He said that it was just too cute to pass up. A New Adventure

Friends and Family ~ As many of you know Chad and I recently found out that we will be expecting our first bundle of joy next spring. Since we live so far from some of our family we thought this would be a great way to share all of the updated news. We are super excited about our new adventure and of course overwhelmed. However, we know that God will guide us in all directions. This past week we went for our first office visit. We were both nervous and excited.

Here are some of the things we found out!

* It's offical!!! 8 weeks and 2 days

* Expected due date is May 28th, 2008

* I can eat icecream everynight if i feel the need, but smaller amounts! :)

* The doctor wants me to gain 35-42 pounds. WOW!

* I can run! Yeah! At least for now.

* Doctor gave Chad orders to help out around the house!! haha, i like that one!

This coming Friday we will be going back to the doctor to have our first ultrasound and hear the heartbeat. So I'm sure we will have more to report. But for now, here is a picture of our family. Chad, me, Buster the dog (who has gotten a haircut since and looks much cutier), and Sky our cat.
